Had a chance to try something different in New York.
There was a Chinese restaurant that served something called soup dumplings. The soup was in the dumpling and the dumpling was served in a bamboo steamer basket. The dumpling contained pork hash and crab meat and the soup. You put the dumpling in a soup spoon and bit into the dumpling and drank the soup from the dumpling.
It was really quite good but I have never seen this before. Does anyone know of any bay area restaurants that serve this dish?
