Soup Buns Port Washington

After reading two very good reviews about the new Shanghai Pavilion and soup buns we gave it a try Sat. night. Major letdown. 6 buns to an order (used to 8) with a doughey wrapper, little soup, and fillings of both crab and pork with little to no flavor. Portions are small served on big rectangular plates which leaves very little room on the table when 4 people are ordering. We ordered shrimp with walnuts. 5 shrimp crunchy nuts but small portion for the price. Tangerine beef was good, crispy shanghai noodles with seafood (a staple) not even close to having the taste and texture when done right. Shanghai style string beans crunchy and good. Looking forward to braised pork shoulder another staple had to be called in advance. Tried the spareribs which were prepared like braised short ribs over spinach. Nice taste and fall off the bone texture but 4 pieces to the order was stingey. Anyone familiar with Joe's Shanghai or the like I feel will feel let down. Had lunch at Joe's in Flushing today and there is no comparison imho.
