Just went to this restaurant in Long Beach Saturday night. Arrived at 6:30pm and there were only two tables with customers. One other couple and a single diner. This should have been a sign to leave, but we figured since we were already at the restaurant, and since my wife is pregnant and had cravings for candied yams, we decided to stay. The restaurant is the size of a Denny's and stands alone on the corner of Cherry and Market. My wife order smothered fried chicken and I ordered the chicken fried pork chop. The gravy on each entree was so greasy and was not edible at all. The pork chop was extremely chewy. The greens had a weird bitter taste to them and the candied yams were swimming in butter. Horrible. We were hoping for an experience similar to Aunt Kizzys in Marina Del Rey, but we were very disappointed. Maybe the other locations are better, but I would be interested if anyone else has eaten here.
