Had the good fortune to be taken to Sorrellina, the new Italian joint by the Mistral people.

I must say the entire evening was very impressive. The decor is stunning, and they have done everything possible to keep the noise to a minimun. On a rockin friday night, they place was quiet enough to have conversation.

Among the items we tried, the Kobe Beef Meatballs with Macaroni was delicious (two of us split the 1/2 portion for an appetizer). I think it was 12. Three golf ball sized meatballs and some delicious homemade or homemade quality noodles.

Also on the table was a fonduta, basically some great cheese baked until bubbly and served with crusty bread for dipping - really great, although I don't know if I could eat a whole order, maybe better for the table.

Entrees were very good, a beautiful veal chop pounded out and served in the Milanese style, cooked perfectly, and delicious.

The waiter argued against my ordering my pork MR, and then brought it out M anyways...it was tasty, but I like my pork MR...the bean casserole as an accompaniment was also great, and the sauce on the pork, a slightly hot combination of dried fruit and mostarda was excellent. One of my companions had the monkfish, which she loved, and I did not try.

We also sampled three side dishes, an Eggplant Grattinata - delicious, eggplant baked with tomatoes and topped with a parmesan crust. Truffled Parmesan fries were to die for. Roasted Cauliflower was also very good.

In all, a great new restaurant - service was consistent, and very good, and the place was very comfortable. I will definitely be back.
