So the newest addition to Smith Street is now open, apparently, although they haven't deigned to hang any menus or signs or window dressings or anything in the huge plate-glass windows.
It's at Union and Smith, and is owned by the Bagels on the Park folks. Despised Smith Street restauranteur Alan Harding was commissioned to design the place, which will feature an ice-cream window in the summertime and a kid-friendly menu all year round... at nighttime the place turns into something of a tap room, which is strange because of the aforementioned lack of window coverings. So far the late-night traffic seems very slim - I pass by every night on the way to my apartment round the corner.
I don't know why it bugs me so much, but I don't think I"ll go in until they hang a menu up so I can see what I'm getting into. That really bugs me.
