Sompun Hit The Spot

Neta | Jul 10, 2003 06:25 PM

Went to Sompun Thai restaurant today. I hadn't been for a few years but was working out in that direction and had my usual craving for Thai food. It was every bit as good as I remembered. Since I was alone, I was limited on what to order. I had the Thai Sticks which were excellent. They consist of a shrimp on a skewer covered by some ground, well seasoned chicken, steamed and then wrapped in very thin egg noodles and fried until golden. They are served with a sweet chili sauce. I also had the crispy fried pork with Chinese brocoli. This was the best I've ever had anywhere including that Thai restaurant in Norwalk (you guys know). I topped it off with the most incredible homemade coconut ice cream that really hit the spot in this weather. The young pretty waitress was so helpful and friendly. The place is very nice and you can eat on the patio if you wish. It's worth a try, I promise. (I did bring home a doggy bag).
