I appear to be forced by cruel circumstance to eat in the 70's or 80's UES. Please, no Mexicans cooking Italian in a place where the door 'ore looks down her nose at you and they overcharge. GOOD AC A MUST! Maybe a homey bar with a Village feel. Balluchi's is looking good at this point, 'cause at least there is a serviceable curry and some beers. Surely there is somewhere without that awful corporate feel I get from these new places like GEISHA, where you feel they are teeing off on you to pay for their renovation and inflated lease. I love OLD places with some history and hate brand new joints that feel like a chain. Maybe I'll phone in sick, but I am supposed to make the call as to the venue.
