Restaurants & Bars 5

So, the wife and I paid a tentatively excited visit to Sodabar, the new bar on Vanderbilt, between St. Marks and Prospect Place in the old Micheline spot. Hey, when a new bar opens up a block from your apt. in Prospect Heights, it's pretty darn exciting!

We didn't try any of the bar food items (sandwiches, fries, mussels, and some other stuff), but were pretty pleased by the drinks. They have 5 taps from what I remember, three of them being Brooklyn beers. The vibe was cool, laid-back, with a decent outdoor patio in the back. It definitely had a 5th Ave./Wburg feel to it, which I was surprised to see in the 'hood.

We were generally pleased and think it's a welcome addition to Vanderbilt Ave and the 'hood generally.

I'd love to hear some other thoughts...
