That'd be nine adults including one vegetarian (she always gets by though), a couple of big meat eaters, a sophisticated New Yorker, a youngish couple from Minnesota, and a couple of women of a certain age who are experienced travelers. We're relatives meeting up for two days in Las Vegas.
I would like to buy one meal, but I don't want to pay too much. LOS is likely to be too exotic. I'd be looking for something more Vegasie (uh, sorry). Rio Carnival for lunch? I clipped from here: "The Rio Carnaval Buffet is a great deal
between 1pm to 4pm its only $12.95.Fresh alaskan king crab.Australlian rack of lamb and so much more.Yum "
Maybe something between lunch and dinner? I found this: "Stopping by Pinot Brasserie at 3pm or so & having a glass of Pouilly Fuisse, oysters & the cheese plate at their bar - feel like I'm in Paris!" Or maybe just buy a round for everybody (my relatives, that is!) at the ghostbar?
I do thank all the posters here who've given me some great ideas for Las Vegas places.
I'll consider LOS for a lunch just with the New Yorker. Maybe she'd like Craftsteak. I don't know that one, but I've been to two Commander Palaces and they've been great. Very good reviews here too. So I'm going to suggest that to her. We're staying at Monte Carlo. Is Andre's in that hotel worthwhile/suitable for a sophisticated but non-snob NY'er who knows her Italian food and wines? Maybe Wild Sage or Renoir based on recent comments here?
If the nine of us get together for lunch or dinner (Dutch treat), I'll suggest Mon Ami Gabi based on the many favorable reviews here. It's also within walking distance from our hotel, I believe. Or maybe, from another clipping, "Try Rumjungle at Mandy Bay and get the mixed grill ( rodizio). ESP if you are a carnivore, its a non stop orgy of griiled meats. The atmosphere is VERY sexy, food is great, service, a bit iffy. Gotta try a foo foo drink too!" And mentioned just again favorably below.
Man, so many apparently good places. Yummmm.
I'd be famished if I weren't posting this after a steak frites dinner.
Any ideas or suggestions welcome.
Thanks again for all the good contributions.
