I need some help in settling a family disagreement:

We are having guests in this weekend and I plan to serve pulled pork. In order to serve our guests, we will need to smoke an 8-lb pork butt, which I estimate will take about 12 hours (assuming 1.5 hours/pound cooking time). My wife says that if I smoke 2-four pound butts the cooking time would be reduced to a total of 6 hours. I say she's wrong because the total weight of the meat is still 8 pounds and that total weight must be brought to 190-200 degrees.

Which one of us is correct?
