I have a dilemna and a question and I come to you for help. I have a fairly frequently reoccuring problem--when i visit my local grocer i cannot decide which smoked meat product to get. For some reason I feel I must limit myself to just one of these products but since i cannot choose which, i often go home without any.
here are some of the choices:
smoked bacon ("hungarian" brand, product of canada)looks almost all fat
smoked eel and smoked whitefish (royal baltic label)
smoked chub (in-house village market, skokie)
capicolla (venetian brand-I am not sure i've had this brand before)
there are a few more some of which are oddities but i can't remember right now.
does anyone have any experience with these products or recommendations?
