Smoked Joint Measures Up

We had our second visit to Smoked Joint, and have to agree with everything LeBan said about it. We finally found BBQ heaven in Philly. The wings app are still the best in the city (IMHO) -- huge, spicy and flavorful (not just hot). The cornbread in the cast iron pan is outstanding (save it for dessert). The ribs are really good, but the Reuben is simply amazing. I don't like Reuben's, but this is one of the best things I've ever tasted. The smoked pastrami has great flavor, almost no fat but still tender. The slaw (instead of kraut) is terrific. The cheese is unobtrusive and just adds smoothness. The grilled rye is perfect. I might actually order one next time instead of ribs! Portions are huge. Didn't try the beans yet (who had room?) but the sweet potato fries are good. Service is great.
