Where can I get smoked haddock in NYC? For those of you who don't know, smoked haddock is an essential ingredient for kedjeree, a wonderful Anglo-Indian dish of hard-boiled eggs, rice, smoked haddock, curry, parsley, and butter. It's something you find in England, and is associated with country-house weekends and shooting parties and that kind of thing. Despite that, it's yummy and a great brunch dish. I've already called Barney Greengrass, Citarella's, and Zabar's, with no luck. It can be made with smoked bluefish, but it's not as good. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
