I'm coming to NYC in a few weeks with my brother and his wife and they are steak lovers, but by no means hounds. Once, while with them, we were all walking down cannery row in Monery and they chose Bubba gumps to go to eat. with all those choices, they wanted to go to a chain. and a pretty icky chain at that. enough said.
I have heard Smith and Wollenski (sp?) is a great steak place. we're staying at the hilton in times square. I need a recommendation for a place that will have great steak, great wines by the glass (they don't really drink wine and I cannot imagine a steak without a big, bold cabernet to go with it). Aged beef... baked potatoes...
My sisterinlaw has never been to NYC, so I'm looking for a splashy, fun NYC experience. One night we are meeting friends to go to Grammercy Tavern, and yes, we already have reservations.
I love Union Square Cafe, but I fear my brother would not find much to eat there.
