Well this was a first:
Went to Lark Creek Inn in Larkspur for the first time the other night. Had a very good meal, enhanced by their "all wines 50% off the wine list price" deal (I think that runs all month). So the next morning, we get a call from the restaurant--they wanted to find out how our meal was, how we enjoyed the experience, and if there was anything they could do to make our next visit more enjoyable. I've never had a restaurant do that before. Very saavy marketing--and it cemented the already warm & fuzzy feeling we had about the place. Probably would've gone back anyway, but now I'm much more inclined to do so--and to recommend. Good for them!
On a related note--while our service was excellent that evening, the couple next to us waited 15 minutes after being seated before a waiter approached them. Once the staff realized the error, the hostess promptly came over, apoligized and offered to pick up the tab on the bottle of champagne they had ordered. Nice to see a restaurant doing the right thing to make its customers happy!
