How to make a smaller cheesecake?

A friend's birthday is coming up this weekend and I would like to make him a small cheesecake for dessert. I am not sure how to cut the recipe in 1/3 or 1/2 and still wind up with the same deliciousness. I also don't have a small spring form pan. The recipe I want to use doesn't use a water bath in the baking.

does anyone have any hints?
