I can't remember who hated Blue Frog Bakery in JP so much, but they couldn't be more wrong (IMHO of course). The choc. croissant on Sun. was out of this world. If only I'd had some milk at that point. Flaky with just the right amount of grease and chocolate. Nice people. It *is* a cramped and uncomfortable space but that doesn't detract from the food.
I seldom eat at the Centre St. Cafe and know people love the brunch (tho there are some detractors here). I have to say, I'd have to be pretty blown away if I were paying $12.95 and $13.95 for brunch at a hole in the wall like that. Most of the nicer south end places don't charge that much. Except for blueberry pancakes at $9.95, nothing is less than $10. I was just looking at the menu but was surprised at the high prices. Is it really worth the $$ and standing in the long lines?
