Our trip is something of a last minute decision (actually decided to go last month but for me, that's last minute when it comes to deciding where to eat) but the Itinerary is set somewhat based on sights to see but also taking into account wine growing regions and a few specific wineries.
Arriving Palermo Oct 10, overnite near the airport. Collect rental car.
Oct 11-14 4 days at Agriturismo Don Carlo 20Km from Erice as base for 3 daytrips Segesta(picnic lunch and dinner at Don Carlo) -
Selinunte/Marzara del Vallo-Lunch/Marsala-Dinner (any advice for Marsala?)
San Vito Lo Capo-Lunch/Custonaci-Dinner (recommendation from family connection living in Sicily)
Oct 15-16 B&B just outside of Agrigento. 2 Lunch and 2 Dinners in the immediate area. Sal8 planned for one dinner.
Oct 17 Piazza Armerina Lunch & Dinner-Al Fogher if I can secure/confirm reservation
Oct 18-20 Ragusa Ibla 1 Lunch on daytrip, rest in old town 2 Lunch 3 Dinners
Oct 21-23 Modica Agriturismo Il Granaio 8Km from town. 2 daytrips, Noto-Lunch/Lido di Noto and Marzameme-Lunch. 2 Dinners in Modica, one at Il Granaio (first night) if good, maybe a second night.
Oct 24-25 Syracuse Staying in Ortigia. 2 Lunch (one at the market) 2 Dinners one at Dioniso
Oct 26-27 Rome Staying next to the Pantheon, plan to just relax and enjoy as this will be our 5th visit. 2 Lunch, 2 Dinners
one at Armando al Pantheon celebrating our 48th anniversary since it was the sight of celebrating our first. Hope it's still good.
