I'm interested in figuring out the slow cooker/crockpot scene but haven't much of a clue. Perhaps someone here does. Am interested in determining:
1. what's the best cooker? Best = smartest features, does the highest quality cooking, most reliable, thoughful about easy clean up, etc. - NOT necessarily the most expensive though I'll spend what it takes
2. what's a good solid cookbook for slow cooker recipes. I don't mind some prep work (would expect it)? A browse of Amazon yields several options - am curious what people here use and like.
3. whether a slow cooker/crockpot will indeed help me address the challenge of getting dinner on the table in a busy domestic situation when we are sometimes out of the house for most of the day and when here, often occupied with 2 kids, ages 3 and 6 months.
(And of course, I'll buy what's recommended through Chowhound's Amazon link, as should all of you!)
Thanks for any help.
