The Slow Club is located on Mariposa. when i was last there, it was still hip (although a bit too hip with such low lighting) and consistently prepared decent food at "pre-gold rush" prices. not at all in the same way as most of the newer (within the last year or so) restaurants that have spawned. newer places today, hold themselves out as hip and trendy BUT what's with the crescendo noise levels? and why are the tables so darn close to one another that you feel you should crawl in or out by way of under the table so as not to knock the glasses and plates off of your neighbors table with your posterior? and since when does a 1/4 of a roast chicken (unbrined for that matter)start out at $17.00? if that's the definition of hip, then i'm inclined to seek elsewhere. oh my gosh, please forgive my digression! back to the posted subject, has anyone got any first hand reviews, rave or not, about this place?
