Slicing a full brisket?

My 8" slicer just doesn't cut it - I can't reach across the whole length of the brisket. I'm looking for a 10/12" inch slicer. I usually keep my eyes open at Homegoods/TJ Maxx, etc. until I find one of quality - I was able to pick up 3 Shun Soras for less than half price this way.
I recently saw a 12" slicing blade that seemed like it was a sushi knife, one sided bevel, etc. I passed, but it was at a great price. Could I do a reasonable job at brisket with such a knife? (It was a Global). Should I just go to the restaurant supply and get a Victorinox?
