After my rant about the evils of reheating baguettes, I'm embarrassed to even admit I eat sliced bread. But it's cheaper than living on Tartine country walnut, plus my waistline appreciates the portion control. Also, maybe I have lower standards.
What sliced breads does anyone recommend? I'm looking for something for sandwiches (PB&J, turkey with mustard) that doesn't need to be toasted. Whole grain preferred, as is something that keeps out of the fridge or freezer.
A few I've tried and liked:
-TJ's organic sprouted 8 grain (anyone know which bakery this comes from?)
-Vital Vittles, although I don't remember which one;
-Cinderella Bakery's dark rye, although it's better with butter, and the slices are very thick.
Time to come out of the closet: anyone?
