Sleek 'n' stuff: Syrian food in the Burgh

Tell the truth, the only one I've eaten at lately has been Ali Baba on Craig Street in Oakland. It could just be my aging taste buds, but the sauces and marinades don't seem as special as they used to be. Still solid, though.
I'll always relate back to Mike Khalil's place on Semple Street, which rose above "restaurant" to "gathering place". Sadly, it has closed, but I think there is a Khalil's on Baum Blvd., same family.
When I left town in the 70s, most of the good Syrian places were clustered in Oakland, with a couple in Brookline. A glance through the Yellow Pages should turn some up. Meanwhile, I'll ask my notoriously wide-ranging family to post to this thread any prize suggestions for special good Syrian chow.
