Been here before but had to try it again after a long sabbatical. anyways, delicious shrimp and ground beef tacos stand owned by African Americans using their non-Mexican inspired, more homecooked -ish recipes. but oh so delicious, there is always room for inauthentic deliciousness in my opinion. the sauteed shrimp tacos come cloaked in papriaka spices, almost clumsily spiced, there must be about a C-notes worth of spices on this bad boy. and served with letture, tomato, and salsa, hold the cheese on some deliciously soft tortillas, great stuff. and you won't get this stuff anywhere else, i can vouch for that. the shrimp tacos are my fave, a definite brightness on a bleary day. the ground beef versions a little less so. but they all have a preponderend of good grease, as opposed to an icky grease. they also serve what's on the menu stated as "authentic tacos" if you can believe it. which are good if not completely authentic, their strong suits are mostly the liberties taken with aunthenticity. Anyways, give it a shot.
on Pico, just west of La Brea.
