Skooby's In Hermosa: REVIEW (Medium)

So I just got back from Skooby's new location in Hermosa Beach. Here's what my brother and I got;

2 Chili Cheese dogs
1 Slooby Dog w/ sauerkraut
1 Skooby's Fries

I think it is obvious that there is a serious effort behind these hot dogs. The bun is very unique. It isn't mushy and airy, but rather firm and slightly toasted (or is that my imagination?). The dog has a very nice snap when you bight it. And the chili is good. I also really liked the saurkraut dog as well.

The fries were really something special. They are REALLY good. They also serve this garlicy dip with the fries that is also very tasty.

As good as the food was, I think the prices were high. The chili dogs are almost $4 a piece. That's a lot, especially when the Costco polish sausage and drink can be had for $1.50. As good as the dogs were, I don't think I can justify eating a hot dog for $4, even one this good. I noticed that on the website, the prices in Hollywood are lower than the ones in Hermosa. This is unfortunate for us South Bay hounds.

What will bring me back though are those amazing fries. I think they are priced fairly considering the quality. Next time I'm gonna get them with some chili on top. Hmm...

Overall, I would check it out if you are within a 20 minutes driving radius of either location.
