Skim milk in unopened plastic container still drinkable 7 days after pull date?

I was surprised to discover, that yes it is. I bought it the week before July 4, but since I had a cold, I never opened. I moved it to another house, but other than that it was barely out of refrigeration for ten minutes.

Yesterday finally felt up to drinking dairy. Started wondering if it was still good 7 days after pull date, but it tasted alright. Good thing because the cheerios and boysenberries were already in the bowl. Like most milk drinkers, I am fussy about my milk. Must be skim, must be Clover, must be fresh (I thought). I drank more that night with a brownie, now that I felt good enough to clog my system.

It must have been the fact that the plastic bottle had never been opened. Any comments?
