Ski Eats - South Lake Tahoe and Heavenly

OC Mutt | Jan 22, 201706:59 PM 2
California Southwest Nevada Lake Tahoe

Hi Hounds,

I'll be skiing at Heavenly and have 2 questions:

On the Heavenly Mountain itself, are there any decent food options? Be specific and if you can name the lodge.

What's the best food in South Lake Tahoe and maybe Stateline NV. It doesn't have to be fancy, but it has to be good and non-corporate non-chain-ish. Thanks!

Long known as a culinary waste land - sorry. Just go for cheap and filling. The old Swiss Chalet used to be a worthy choice, at least for fondue, but they are now closed. There are small ethnic type places - casual for a change of pace. But dining? No.

Might try Stateline but my guess it will be more steak dinner house food. There is a culinary "cultural" difference between North Tahoe and South Tahoe - for decent dining you need to go to the North Shore - but not advised on snowy roads late a night.

Edgewood has a couple of dining options (Brooks Bar, Edgewood Restaurant) that they totally remodeled last year. http://www.edgewoodtahoe.com/dine-imbibe

RevAndy hopefully will see your post and add his opinion as well. Enjoy your trip, there is a ton of snow right now!!
