I'm a lover of all things sushi, my girlfriend, not so much. Is there any sort of unwritten rule or etiquette when it comes to sitting at the sushi counter and not actually eating any sushi? Obviously if the place is not crowded or very informal setting, I can see there being no issues. But what about a place like Yasuda in NYC. While she might enjoy a roll or two, she'd mainly be interested in ordering cooked food off of their very limited a la carte menu and would never go for an omakase for fear of what might end up in front of her. The last thing I'd want is to annoy the itamae or the staff by 'wasting' a seat at the bar.
