OK. I know where to get great carne asada burritos (el taurino, etc) or great chile verde (Rafaels) and I know the great trucks (Rose and Lincoln). I even know good sit down Mexican without real margaritas, like La Talpa and others.
But, where in your opinion is the best traditional (as opposed to Oaxacan) Mexican food on the westside with a real (tequila) margarita? Is it Gilberts, or Lares, or??? By the way, I am going to define west side as anywhere west of Western, kind of like the definition in 1955. Good food and a good margarita are a must. Decor is secondary. And just so you know, I personally don't think that El Cholo or El Coyote qualify on the good food end of it. Is there some place that has been eluding me all these years? C'mon, spill the beans (so to speak). Your opinion?
