OK, I've dispensed some good advice so here I go with my request:
Sister, Brother-In-Law and 2-year old nephew visiting in May from Scottsdale. They are staying in Studio City and plan to visit Hollywood and Universal Studios. May spend one day in Downtown LA. Don't want to drive far. Will eat almost anything as long as the restaurant is kid-friendly. Love sushi, healthy food, Mexican (but they get a lot of that at home). They are on a budget. They eat dinner early due to the kid factor.
The valley is a big black hole to me. My knowledge of eateries west of Glendale is absolutely nil.
Where can we go that combines food and an "LA experience"? MUST be kid-friendly.
For our Hollywood day, I was thinking an early dinner at Yamashiro (yes, I know it's not the best sushi but for tourists it is great), maybe breakfast or lunch at the Newsroom.
The "Downtown" day I was thinking street food (bacon-wrapped hot dogs, corn with chile powder, fruit), or Philippe's.
But the "Valley" days are stumping me. Help!
