Haven't seen a lot recently re: the vittles in Sioux Falls. Thought I would share:
K: open for lunch only during the week (dinner on weekends). Pretty good. Had a sockeye salmon salad on Asian slaw. Salmon was slightly over-cooked. One of the more invigorating menus for lunch in the area- the pot roast sandwich was quite good. Small wine list was average
Parker's Bistro: Really wanted to like this place. Service was professional, although slightly inattentive. Had the charcuterie plate- good lamb sausage, great duck pate and solid rabbit terrine. The Osso Buco was strange- 2 1/4" slices on grilled polenta. Gremolata topping differentiated the dish positively. Solid, not spectacular. The egg rolls are quite good here, however! Not so much the steaks. Probably the most imaginative menu in the area.
Spezia: I quite liked this place. Similar to the Bravo chain. Had risotto w/ butternut squash and wood grilled chicken. The open faced chicken sandwich was also enjoyable
Tre: upscale bar environment. Had chicken nachos and chislic. Both were good- the nachos enough for the Duggar family. The entrees are so-so

Other places I have liked:
Sanaa's- my favorite meal I've had in Sioux Falls. Lebanese
TC's Referee- Great beer selection, dive bar. will show just about any sporting event if from out of town. I liked the food too (think jalapeno poppers and wings, not ahi tuna). Every time I've been there, I land up shooting the breeze- friendly
Bracco- care more about the scene than the food. Average food
Tea Steakhouse- worst meal of my entire life. steak was inedible for all 4 of us. went under new management a few years ago, and apparently a turn for the worse. Embarrassing.
Been to Minerva's and Foley's which are average steak joints.
One take away from my visits- the quality of food suffers b/c of consumer demands for quantity. Not necessarily specific to Sioux Falls, but it does apply to the fine dining establishments as well here. Heard consistent complaints from patrons re: small serving sizes for even massive plates. But in order for these places to stay open, they have to play by these rules. the end result has been some pretty good meals, but nothing outstanding, despite some well constructed efforts by the culinary teams.
