Thanks to everyone who responded to an earlier post inquiring about good restaurants in Burlington.
As it turned out, our hosts had made reservations at A Single Pebble, so we had dinner there last night - here's what we had:
Dry fried string beans: excellent. Despite the fact that one of our party of four wasn't especially excited at the prospect, he joined in on cleaning the plate.
Potstickers-good, but nothing extraordinary.
Hot and Sour Soup: though another member of the group thought it was too hot, I was blown away by the complexity of flavors and a slightly smoky undertone.
Shredded Pork entree - very nice, though we ordered it "medium" hot, and 3 of 4 thought it could've used more heat.
Catfish entree (don't remember the exact name) Served with steamed spinach, which nicely complemented the lightly battered fried fish.
We liked the food so much that we even tried the coconut creme brulee. I like a silkier c.b. than their version, but the flavor was lovely and the caramel on top was absolutely perfect.
All in all, a delightful dinner. NB. Don't know how crowded it gets during the week, but reservations seem necessary on weekends.
