Singapore Old Town Cafe in Dublin

yimster | Mar 25, 200701:57 PM     7

Yesterday I was invited by someone with a lot of insigth in Food from Sinapore to give this new place a try.

We had the following dishes.

Char Kway Teow
Hainanese Chicken Rice
Roti Canai
Satay Chicken
Beef Rendong
Old Town Catfish
Sambal Ladies Fingers (Okra)

All the dishes were good to very good, my favorite was the Old Town Catfish. The Hanianese Chicken was cooked just right not overcooked and Beef Rendong was cooked down that it melted in my mouth and had "crispy" (really cooked down) sections.

But the only drawback was the service, the staff did try hard to deliver our food but the wait between dishes was way too long. The Catfish did not arrive until we were done and was ready to leave in fact we want to cancel the dish but it arrive as the owner went into the kitchen to cancel it.

The place was packed and they were out the door. I hope they can work out their problems on getting food on to the table. The table next to us arrvie ten minutes after us and had one dish and had to wait until we were leaving to get their final three dishe.

I will let my host explain the food being real, I am only glad I was ask to join them.

Coat was 14 each but out host had a coupon for a free dish.

A good way to start a weekend.
