Singapore - Indian Food Street along Syed Alwi Road

Sye Alwi Road, owing to its proximity to the ever-popular 24-hour Mustafa Department Store, is positively bursting at its seams with good Indian eateries these days. My fave were Raj of Kolkata for vegetarian options & its fabulous chaats, Malgudi for its briyani, Murugan for its idlis and Copper Chimney for its Manchurian chicken and Sino-Ludianvhi options.

But there are also Singaporean branches of famous Chennai chains here: the ever-popular Saravana Bhavan, briyani specialists Thalappakattu, Anjappar and Ponnusamy, amongst others. Walking down the street, it does feel like one is in fact in India, except for the posher cars on the streets here in Singapore.
