So I am a pretty decent cook - but I lack some key supplies, like a cast-iron pan, crock pot, roasting rack.... and while I have cooking seafood, pasta and veggies down to a science, I rarely cook meat.
For Valentine's I'd like to cook a beef tenderloin or a rack of lamb or something delicious and simple enough to make without the above equipment. I live near a good butcher so that's not a problem.
Any tips on how to cook it? And side dishes? I'm not looking for any fancy heart-shaped-polenta-with-barolo-reduction-type dishes, just something simple, good, and impressive-looking.
Thanks so much!
