Simba Grill: A wonderful Eastern African restaurant!

Brian P. | Dec 27, 2005 06:28 PM

For a Torontonian who spent his summer in Kenya as a teacher, it was so wonderful to re-discover a taste of East Africa at the Simba Grill.

The decor, especially the lion artwork (simba is the word for lion in Kiswahili) is charming. The food is tasty and filling. I had the beef ugali and mogo with tamarind dip. I was so happy to find my adored Vimto, the soft drink of all things - hard to find in Toronto! Me and my three co-guests were welcomed and had nice conversations with the owner as well.

It was a very enjoyable experience.

Simba Grill is at 375 Donlands Avenue. That's in East York, around O'Connor and Pape.

Happy Holidays!
