Now there's a brand name out of the past. This Dupont nonstick surface seems to have pretty much gone off the cookware market, except for cheap stuff by Farberware. As I understand it, the chemistry is much the same as Teflon but there's an additional middle layer of coating to make the surface scratch-resistant. I have a 30-year-old Silverstone-coated griddle that's still as nonstick as when it was new, and has no scratches that I can see. So I'm wondering, did something happen to make Silverstone less popular and commercially marketable than it was? And is there any problem with Silverstone, apart from the Teflon connection, that I should know about?
