Silicon Valley chowhound in need of LA recommendations

Humbucker | Mar 20, 200612:50 PM

I'm going to be in the LA/San Bernadino/Upland area for a few days and I'm looking for some great places to eat. Can anyone pitch in some recommendations? Specifically, I'm looking for:

A burger place: There aren't really any great places in the silicon valley to get a big, juicy burger cooked rare-to-medium rare. Something that has table service (not a total dive) but isn't over $15 for a burger would be nice. If there's some place with mind blowingly awesome burgers you have to recommend, then you can disregard the table service requirement (Original Tommy's?).

Korean: Again, not really any standout Korean places up north. I'm not looking for a tofu or BBQ centric places, as we do have plenty of those. Is Woo Lae Oak still good?

Sushi: Mid to low priced ($2-$5 ave. nigiri prices)? Not a fan of the crazy rolls, just looking for great nigiri with maybe a few unusual specialties (fresh unagi? raw beef?)

Italian: I'm searching for a classic red sauce Italian place with great pasta, especially al forno stuff like Lasagna or Ziti. Again mid-priced.

Thanks in advance for the help! I know you guys will help me make my trip a delicious one.
