First significant snow...Whats cooking?

It has been snowing on and off all day here in the Boston area. My son and I have been curled up watching Christmas movies. I have veal shanks in the slow cooker braising with tomatoes, onions, shallots, garlic, carrots, celery, chicken broth, fresh parsley, herbs de Provence, bay leaves and some dry vermouth. The house smells wonderful!! There is dough rising for fresh bread and mixed greens all washed and dried for salad. After dinner the rugrat and I are going to make cookies or maybe brownies. I love these kind of days!!
