I need a signature drink for holiday party- and cordials.

I've done eggnog, spiced cider, and spiced wine in the past. All were quite good, but I really don't want to do the eggnog as it'll be too heavy before dinner, don't want to do spiced wine as wine will be flowing heavily during dinner, could do spiced cider but that's kinda sweet.

Does anyone have a great recommendation for a unique and crisp drink? It doesn't necessarily have to be holiday themed.

The crowd is sophisticated and very affluent... 18 guests.

Also, I could use some recs for cordials/spirits. I'm getting a good dessert wine and some port. Aside from the usual Kahlua, Frangelica, Chambord, etc., can anyone recommend a good cordial... not to mention a particular brandy or cognac?
