Since many of us who live in South OC are looking for new places to eat, I wanted to post a quick review of Sid's in Mission Viejo off of Marguerite. It's in the former Stubrik's location, off the 5 (Avery & Marguerite). They've got great bar food-best hamburger, fries, and onion rings I've had in a long time. Sid's also has a steak menu, serving a filet, NY strip, and a ribeye, and a few other home-cooked specialties like beef stroganoff and fettucini alfredo. It's also got a full bar and many kinds of beer on tap, along with some pool tables.
I highly recommend this place-it is not crowded, they've got all the sports games on, and it's a very comfortable place to hang out. Plus, no crowds and the food is 100 times better than other bar food restaurants in the area (the pickings are slim-Chili's, TGI Fridays, and that's about it). Not sure if it's related to the old Sid's in Newport, as the menu is a bit different, but it's a great hangout for anyone in South OC. I feel comfortable recommending this place-my husband and I have been about 10 times now and we've always been pleased with the food.
