I am planning a trip in May, flying to Catania (how many nights there..three??); moving on to Ragusa for about four nights making day trips. Hoping to rent the car there if possible. And then (?): Thinking of a counterclockwise trip of about 2.5 weeks (could be longer).
From Ragusa, stop for lunch at La Madia in Licata and on to B&B in Realmonte. Then to B&B near Castelveltrano/Selinunte.
And then.....if we move on to Trapani and stay there and do day trips for about 3 nights, are we missing anything essential between Selinunte area and Trapani city?
Then I thought we could move on to either San Vito Lo Capo or Scopello and a few nights, and finally, to someplace within easy reach of Palermo airport, which is west of the city. I need help with all restaurants, obviously, but also, especially, with the last part of the trip after, and just before, Trapani.
We have been to Palermo, Taormina, Siracusa, Agrigento, etc, but not to the places mentioned. We will have a car but are leery drivers, as I am sure I've mentioned a dozen times on this forum.
One thing that worries me is that is there is little time near the coast....we could do day trip to Vendicari and of course, there is Scopello. I am reaching out far before doing my usual research as I am worried about places filling up despite the virus chatter which does not bother me much right now.
Please, if you have time, can you suggest places you loved to stay, to eat, etc.
It will be too early for sea swimming and even unheated pools will be too cold for me....so it's really for scenery and eating.
