I have been debating about whether I want to say this here, and my main motive in doing so is the hope that my doing so will arrest what appears to be a downhill slide.

The last three times I have been there, I have been very disappointed in what used to be some of my favorite dishes. The soup part of the wontons in hot and sour soup is now very much diluted and noticeably lacking in vinegar. It used to be so strong and vibrant! The fu qi fei pian seems not to have the lovely mix of tendons, tripe and beef now. Rather, they seem to be using beef with a little stripe of tendon in it, which really does not give the same effect at all. This dish used to be executed in a remarkably precise fashion.

OTOH, my daughter is thrilled that their sweet and sour has improved (from a kid's standpoint), so she is more willing to trek out there with me.

Also, the cold noodles remain awesome. (I get the nonspicy version, because the other things I order are spicy.) My daughter likes these too, although she says she doesn't. She can't stop eating them at any rate.
