Sichuan Delight for a quick Sunday lunch again

yimster | Dec 13, 200411:09 PM

This Sunday morning Mrs. yimster wanted something simple and would warm her blood. I did not want to go too far from home since there was hope the 49ers may finally win a game. After watching the game I wish we had gone someplace so I would not have wasted my time watching the game.

We went down the street to Sichuan Delight on El Camino in Redwood City. We have been there four times before and the service and food is getting better and smoother. Also the customers are getting more Chinese which is a good sign so it may make it after all.

We had the following yesterday.

Sweet Soy Bean Milk
Savory Soy Bean Milk
Fried Bread
Sesame oil, Green Onion Baby Bamboo Shoots
Red Braised Beef Noodle Soup Spicy

The cost was about 15 dollars out the door. All the dishes were fresh, hot and very warming on a cold day. Also very good, I asked the soup to be on the mild side since Mrs. yimster does not like hot food at this point in time. But it was spicy enough. I need to return at a later date to try it a little hotter.

In my last visits we have had the following dishes

Garlic A choy
Hot and Spicy Pork Kidneys both hot and cold dishes
Seafood served on a hot metal plate
Mock Eel
Fried Cake Bread with Spicy Beef

Everything was good. I still need to come for a dinner meal and take the server recommendation on the chef Sichuan special dishes.

I will report back. I am glad the finally Redwood City is now serving good Chinese food. Maybe I not need to travel so far to meet my food desires.

In closing if you live in the area look for the local newspaper they have a ad for 7 bucks off if you order more than 25 dollars of food.
