Siam Rice review - Santa Clarita (Saugus & Canyon Country)

Wonginator | Apr 26, 200612:55 PM

Making a trip up to my company's main office for a day in Santa Clarita, my co-workers introduced me to a really good Thai restaurant I had never been to or heard of in nearby Saugus.

It is called Siam Rice II, which is the 2nd Siam Rice restaurant to open (the first one is located in Canyon Country).

I'm no Thai food expert, so I don't know how it compares to the more well-known Renu Nakorn or Thai Nakorn or the restaurants in Thai Town.

I opted to try the Duck Noodles, which seemed like a slight variation from the more popular and common Pad See You dish, which normally come with chicken, beef or pork. It is a dish quite comparable to the Chinese dish Chow Fun, which I've eaten quite a bit in my life.

The Duck Noodles were really good, as I devoured every scrap of noodle and duck and the various veggies that came with the dish. I also got to try larb with pork for the first time, which was a bit different for me.

For those who visit Valencia/Santa Clarita and are looking for alternatives to the numerous chains of restaurants in the area, Siam Rice is indeed worth checking out.
