Siam Rice

Erik M. | Oct 24, 200311:20 AM

Today, Siam Rice, opens on N. Wells, in the Loop. [Between Randolph and Washington, on the east side.]

After a more formal tasting, last night, I've now managed to try a significant portion of the menu offerings.

I took notes, last night, but they look like a complete mess, today. [Our table managed to work through a bottle of J.W. Blue Label, a bottle of J.W. Gold Label, and another bottle of Gold Label was nearly empty when I stumbled out... **]

At any rate, its probably as good as Thai gets in the downtown area. Assuming that they manage to work something out with parking in the evenings, they should fare well. [Something is being worked out with the adjacent parking garage, from what I gather.]

Last night's favourites at our table were the "salmon rolls," "tom yum soup," "steak mussaman," "chu chee salmon," and the "pad ka prow."

** They do not have their liquor license, yet.

Disclaimer: A close friend was brought on board to help with menu steering. [Truthfully, his project is to make the menu more Thai friendly.] I've been asked for feedback/criticism and menu suggestions...

Oh, they intend to become a Boba destination, as well.
