Best Shrimp Tempura in SF?

Niki | Jul 28, 2005 07:29 AM

After seeing the excellent Tibetan Art Show (but scandalously no mention China stole the stuff), I tried Nara on the west side of Polk near California.
The tempura was great! For $7.50 you get a HUGE pile of really big tasty crispy shrimp (with rice & "salad"). I'm still going to Mifune for the giant shrimp tempura (with veg.)/soba combo for sure. But Nara's bargain cannot be beat! Sauce tip: tempura tastes more delicious with wasabi/soy than with that insipid tempura sauce they give you.
If anybody knows any other great shrimp tempura deals I'd like to know.
