I'm going to throw an outdoor dinner party for aobut 6 couples. My access to quality ingredients is somewhat limited, but I can get pretty good quality shrimp consistently.
The ideal dish would be advanced preped with very little last minute heat-up. I have a large gas grill, but am a bit frightened of grilled shrimp as I have been known to overcook them to meal-y ness on the grill.
The dinner's theme will probably be Italian, starting with spiced olives, parmesan/fennel pastry straws, figs w/ goat cheese for hor d's. I'll probably do bread and rosemary/mint olive oil, mini pizzas and caprese salad along w/ the shrimp.
I'll have loads of nice peaches...if I could figure out how to incorporate them, that would be a plus.
(oh, and a wine pairing wouldn't be amiss, either)
