short DC trip report

Spent a little time in your lovely area and managed to eat at:
--Old Siam (8th street SE near Eastern Market); okay enough papaya salad, good tom kha with shrimp, but the mussaman curry was terribly sweet and otherwise very bland. I wouldn't return.
--Park Cafe (also Cap Hill area) was pleasant enough, open to the park on a cool night. Nice tomato/mozzerella salad, tasty mixed seafood/meat paella. It's a cozy space...
--the cafe at NAMI; what a delight! Imagine, interesting choices at a Smithsonian museum. Fry bread with buffalo chili; tomato, watermelon & mint salad...many other worthwhile choices.
