Short Barcelona Trip Report

Went to barcelona for the first time in the first week of February. Its now one of my favorite cities in the world and I can't wait to go back. The food was one of the highlights. Here are some of the places we went:

As soon as we landed in the morning, we headed to the Boqueria and ate at Bar Pinotxo, one of the first stalls in the boqueria. Had some cuttlefish with potatoes, cigalas (looks like langoustines) with sausage, meat and mushroom croquettes, cockles with fried eggs. Everything was great.

For dinner that evening, we ate at Can Majo in Barceloneta, near the water. I remember having some grilled squid and cod and more croquettes. The highlight was the seafood paella with everything in it. I'm not a paella expert, never been to valencia, but it was definitely the best paella I've ever had. After that, we took a taxi to Joaquim Costa road and hit some bars in that area.

For dinner on Saturday, we ate at Senyor Parellada in the Born area. It was really great as well, nice little townhouse, we sat upstairs. We had some razorclams with sherry, the shell pasta, some cod, a charcuterie plate, the lamb with roasted garlic (the roasted garlic was awesome), and some more croquettes. One of the best dishes was the catalan stew, which was basically a bunch of seafood in a pot. The food was great, and prices were very reasonable. The meal cost substantially less than Can Majo. After dinner, we hit a few bars in the El Born area, there are tons of bars in the surrounding area.
